Icebox Pie Class
In this class, guests will learn how to shape a vanilla wafer or OREO® pie shell base, observe the technique used to make a tempered sweetened egg base, and fold together a semifreddo. Participants will also choose different flavorings and mix-ins to assemble their own icebox pie!
The class will explore the differences between a semifreddo, a crème anglaise-based churned ice cream, and a no-churn ice cream, along with the history of icebox pies. Discussion will focus on the roles of key ingredients as well as equipment used, the distinction between no-churn and custard-based methods, and how flavoring options impact the final product.
Food will be provided, including pot pie from Pots and Pans Pie Co., snacks, and beverages.
No prior baking experience is required! Just come ready to learn, create, and enjoy.
Pies will be placed in our walk-in freezer to set overnight and will be boxed and available for pickup on April 13th.
